Obituary
Garfield Plt.--- William "Bill" Good, 85, went to be with the Lord on the day of His Resurrection, Sunday, March 27, 2016. He was born October 6, 1930 in Portage Lake, ME. He was the son of the late Allen and Annie (Pye) Good.
Bill served during the Korean War in the Army. He graduated from Bob Jones University in 1960 and later was employed in the highway maintenance department with DOT in Ashland followed by Portage Lake and lastly Garfield Plantation. He was deeply involved in ministry in a number of churches in Maine for the past 50 years.
He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Gertrude; children: Doris (James) Cushman, Danny (Melanie), John (Martha), and Tim (Cindy); siblings, Annabel Adoff and Arthur Good; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bill was predeceased by a son, David, and three sisters, Laura Spurlin, Kathleen "Kay" Currier, and Helen Jandreau.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 2PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Advent Christian Church, 42 Exchange Street, Ashland, with Pastor Joe Mortland officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family Wednesday afternoon, 1PM until the time of service at the church. Spring interment will be in Portage Lake Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St./PO Box 39, Ashland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: New Life Baptist Church, PO Box 1576, Presque Isle, ME 04769 or to Hospice of Aroostook, 14 Access Hwy, Caribou, ME 04736.*** Please note location of visitation and funeral service has been relocated to Advent Christian Church, Ashland.
