Obituary

St. John---William "Willie" O'Leary, 96, passed away and entered eternity with his Lord on October 28, 2023, at a Frenchville health care facility.  He was born in St. John on July 27, 1927, son of the late Daniel and Augustis (McKinnon) O'Leary.  Willie was an Army veteran, having served from 1945-1947.   An avid outdoorsman, he was always found hunting, fishing, and trapping.  He enjoyed his family, but especially time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He would give the shirt off his back if needed, always willing to give a helping hand.  Willie is survived by his wife of 71 years, Alice (Berube) O'Leary of St. John; one daughter, Carla Caron and her husband Gary of St. John; two grandchildren, Bambi (Trawn) of Caribou and Megan of Connecticut; three great grandchildren, Trevor and Caleb of Caribou, and Abigail of Connecticut, one sister-in-law Geraldine, and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two sons, Jason and Marvin; one grandson, Douglas; ten siblings.    The family of Willie O'Leary want to commend the staff at St. Joseph Memory Care for their care of Willie and the generosity that was shown to the family during this trying time.  Everyone from the office personnel right to the housekeeping crew all deserve to be recognized, truly appreciated!  A Funeral Service will be held 12pm on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the St. John Bible Church.  Relatives and friends may call at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home on Thursday from 10-11:30am before the service.
