Madawaska--- Winette Michaud, 89, died peacefully December 23, 2017, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born July 6, 1928 in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Leo and Yvonne (Cyr) Rossignol.
Winette was a dedicated wife and mother, raising her five boys, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and sharing her harvests with her children and neighbors. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a long-time parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
She is survived by: five sons, Gilman Michaud and his wife Jeanne of Frenchville, Ray Michaud of Florida, Brian Michaud and his wife Crystal, Steve Michaud and his special friend Lena, all of Texas, and Ken Michaud of Madawaska; three siblings, Marilynn Jaqua, Adeline Garland, both of Florida, and Ronald Rossignol and his wife Jackie of Frenchville; seven grandchildren, Ben, Jill, Christine, Helene, Tana, Liz, and Ning; seven great grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Josie Rossignol; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Winette is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Normand Michaud in 1992, and two brothers, Bertrand and Albin Rossignol.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, April 6, 2018, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning 9-9:45 AM at the church. Spring interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Madawaska. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114-10th Ave., Madawaska.
