Madawaska: Yvette (Cyr) Martin, 91, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2014 in Bangor. She was born on July 1, 1922, in Madawaska, daughter of the late Mathias and Alvine (Pelletier) Albert. Yvette was the wife Armand Martin of Madawaska, and of the late Alcide V. Cyr of Madawaska. Yvette began her career in the insurance industry, and then served as Clerk of Madawaska District Courts for many years. Yvette is survived by her two sons - Carl Cyr and his wife Carmelle of Edmundston, NB and Mark Cyr and his wife Gisele of Lewiston; one sister - Alice Cormier of Presque Isle; one brother - Lucien Albert of California; five grandchildren - Marie-Eve Cyr, Paul Cyr, Michel Cyr, Danielle Robins, and Alan Cyr; one great grandchild - Nicolas Cyr; four stepsons - Kenneth (Gene) Martin and his wife Linda of Ohio, Philip Martin and his wife Gloria of Madawaska, Roger Martin and his wife Rejeanne of Madawaska, and David Martin of Madawaska; one stepdaughter - Phyllis and her husband Louis St. Amand of North Carolina. She was predeceased by three brothers - Leo Albert, Camille Albert, and Normand Albert; and three sisters - Rita Albert, Laurette Bisson, and Germaine Branscombe. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11am on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 9am until 10:30am on Tuesday before the service. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery in St. David.
